 Nowadays, billing and cooing couples can be seen everywhere on the campus: along the river, up the hills, or just around the street corner. Campus love is not uncommon anymore in today’s fast developing society. However, I, a single girl, prefer to stay single in that I believe being single saves me a lot of time and energy and by reducing the possibility of getting distracted and emotional, it provides me with a better study atmosphere.  Hook  Thesis statement

 Being single saves me a lot of time and energy, which is badly needed during the process of gaining knowledge. Like farmers cultivating crops, relationships cost time and energy. However, time and energy is limited. The time spent in dating a boyfriend/girlfriend spells the time lost in studies. I came to college to obtain as much knowledge as possible so that I can become a more excellent and useful person. Therefore, study is and should be the main task during my four college years. Young as I am, there’s not a single redundant second for me to waste. I don’t want to look back in future, only to find that my regrets know no bound.  Being single reduces the possibility of getting distracted and emotional and provides me with a better study atmosphere. Sometimes love is as sweet as the rose blossoms, sometimes love turns into the dangerous thorns that might accidentally hurt. A relationship not only brings happiness, sweetness and fun, but also involves jealousy, worries and distractions. For instance, seeing your boyfriend/girlfriend with another girl/boy easily makes you jealous and worried; a fight or misunderstanding between you two might distract you from normal work and study for a whole day. It is but a striking fact that when in love, people tend to focus so much on that special someone that whenever a little incident arises, they become emotional.
