Teradata Upgrade – Version May 16, 2012

2 Executive Summary Business Problem: SPHE has Teradata as the primary database for the HORIZON data warehouse and Business Objects as the primary reporting tool. The current Teradata system runs on version 6.2 which has become an outdated version and has reached its limitations to fulfill the Business Objects reporting needs. Over the last months, critical Incidents have shown that Teradata performance has become a major issue because of the exponential growth of data volume. The Teradata upgrade is also required to be compatible with the future Business Objects release.
