The solutions to this event. Juan Carlos Gloria 8B

 There was a big political problem in France. The 3 state system. The first state, or the clergy, the second state, or the nobles, and the third state, or the rest of the town. The third state had no representatives and they couldn’t fight against the other 2 states. Since they only counted as 1 vote. (vs 2 votes, the clergy and nobles)

 Montesquieu gave us an idea to solve the 3 state system conflict. A democracy. The separation of powers. The executive, legislative, and judicial powers limit each other.

 High Taxes, the government imposed regulations on the economy.

 To solve some economic issues, Adam Smith came up with a doctrine, laissez-faire, meaning “to let (people) do (what they want). This said that the state should leave the economy alone. The state should not interrupt economics.  The best statement of laissez -faire was made by Adam Smith in “The Wealth Of Nations”

 To solve the high taxes conflict, all 3 states should pay taxes instead of making the third state pay all taxes. A flat tax of 20% could balance it.

 Rousseau, in his famous Work “The Social Contract” introduced a concept that said that an entire society should agree to be governed by its general will. This was the social contract.

 Also, Mary Wollstonecraft fought for the Rights Of women. She identified that the power of men over women was equally wrong. She said that since women reasoned too, then they should be entitled to the same rights as men.

 The French Revolution had a lot of philosophers and other enlighten thinkers that had ideas that helped make important reforms in France. Other countries around the world got inspired by the French Revolution. Ideas of this event are still seen today.
