Using Powerpoint By: Aaron Hopkins

 Upon the startup of PowerPoint you may be prompted to select a theme. If this does not happen, or you do not want to then you can add or change one later by clicking on the Design tab at the top of the screen and selecting one from there. It looks like this: Step One

 To add text to your slide click on the Insert tab also located at the top of your screen and then select “Text Box”. Then click anywhere on your slide to insert the text box and just start typing. Adding Text

 To add a new slide you select new slide on the home tab and pick whatever layout you wish. Click on the layout you want and you’re done. Adding Slides

 Select the Insert Tab and then click on Picture. You can then browse your files for pictures you want to add. These will be pictures you saved yourself to your computer. Adding Images

 If you do not have pictures on your computer you want to use then you can add clip art.  These are images in the PowerPoint Program that you may search through.  Select Insert Tab and then Clip Art. A box will appear on the right of the screen where you may browse through all of the clip art. Click on a picture and it will be added. Adding Images Part 2

 To add an animated effect while switching between slides you can apply a transition.  Click on Transitions tab and select one you wish to use.  To apply this to all slides simply select the Apply To All to the right of the transitions. Transitions

The following is an example of a PowerPoint presentation over the evacuation plan for the Mott Community College RTC building.

In case of a need for evacuation proceed to the nearest exit and get away from the building. MCC RTC Evacuation Plan

MCC RTC Evacuation Plan 2nd Floor If you are on the second or third floors do NOT use the elevator. Find the nearest stairs and proceed to the first floor and exit the building.

MCC RTC Evacuation Plan 3 rd Floor Proceed down the stairs to the first floor and exit the building.
