Fun features to enhance your presentations

 Add Layouts  Add Clipart or Graphs  Add Sound  Add Video  Add Transitions  Add remote timing

 Use the Templates that come with PowerPoint  nds.com/

 From the ribbon bar, click on Insert, Then Picture  At this point you need to decide where you are getting the clipart from ◦ Clipart, that comes with PowerPoint ◦ From File, Pictures/clipart you found ◦ Scanner/Camera, you have taken ◦ From the web

 To use the clipart, select the clip organizer  For the web, select Clips Online  From File, you need to know where you have placed the clipart/picture files you intend to use.  Highlight the file you want, then click insert.

 You can group pictures together to make them move together when placing them  Select two pictures by holding down Ctrl and clicking on them, then right-click and select “Group”. The pictures will now move in the same positions relative to one another  You can also select a picture’s order by sending some in front of or behind other pictures by right- clicking and selecting “Bring to front” or “Send to Back”.

 Sound can add to your presentation ◦ By adding music ◦ By adding a narrative  To add sound, you might find it useful to use and follow the help file that comes with PowerPoint  Can add from file, clip organizer, CD, or record your own sound  Can attach to single slide or entire presentation

 Click Insert  Click Movie or Movie from file  At this point you need to know where your movie is stored  Find your movie file  Click Insert

 Transitions gives the creator a way of having the information appear on the screen  Helps in the way you change from one slide to another, just as transitions are used in the movies

 Click on Animations from the ribbon bar  Select one of the transition options and you will see an example of how it will look

 After selecting, you can then modify the speed and sound that comes with the transition  You can choose to apply a transition to one or all of your slides

 Select any object on the page and click custom animation from the Animations tab  For example, you can make objects drop down, swirl in, or fade into the page.  Choose entrances and exits, motion paths, and emphasis by right-clicking the effect

 You can set the timing of a presentation two ways ◦ Manually ◦ While rehearsing  Click on Slide Show  Click on Rehearse Timing ◦ Run through the presentation ◦ Save the Timing or Start over
