File Management 1.Keeping all your files in one location, such as “My Documents” is a very good idea. Have folders within your “My Documents” for different subject areas, classes, projects and so forth. 2. Click “Start”->”My Documents” to open the folder.

3.To create a new folder right click on window showing the contents of the “My document” folder. Select “New” -> “ Folder”.

4. A new folder is created, Type the name of the folder in the highlighted area.

5. For other operations on the folder like deleting a folder, renaming folder, right click on the folder. A list of options pops up. Click on the desired option. The same is applicable for file operations also.

6. Sometimes a file is too large to store it in a floppy. You can reduce the size of the files (Zip a file) by using compression softwares like “Winzip”. To zip a file right click on the file and click “Winzip” - “Add to filename.Zip”

7. To store the file in a floppy, right click on the “filename. zip” file and click “Send To”-> “Floppy ( A: )”
