Access to Healthy Food Outlets in the East Midlands

What are we going to do? Map accessibility to food outlets most likely to sell fresh fruit and vegetables using POI dataset –Grocers, Convenience Stores; General Stores, farm shops & pick your own; markets; and supermarkets Analyse by different modes of transport –Walking, cycling and public transport 20 minute accessibility indicator Identify those areas where there is poor access to ‘healthy’ food outlets, and why

Outcomes Proposed first step in measuring accessibility to food outlets in an area Identify where further insight might be needed Maps will be published for each PCT in the region Briefing to be provided with each map on key findings, potential next steps Potential for informing local transport plans to improve accessibility to outlets for risk groups
