SAFETY RULES FOR SCIENCE

Follow Instructions Follow the teacher’s written and oral instructions. Ask questions if you do not understand what to do

Beware of Poison DO NOT taste eat drink inhale anything used in science activities unless the teacher tells you to.

Your Hands Will Get Dirty Keep your hands away from your face, eyes, and mouth and keep your hair tied back during science activities. Wash your hands after using materials or chemicals.

Protect Your Eyes Always wear goggles when chemicals glass containers heat is being used in the lab. Wear closed shoes when in the lab area.

Ask First Any experiments you want to try on your own must be approved by the teacher.

Tell the Teacher Tell the teacher if you see something / someone being unsafe

Accidents Happen Tell the teacher if you have an accident or an injury.

Emergency Know the class emergency plan.
