Magazine Design and Target Audience Task: Using Microsoft Publisher you will create 2 magazine covers. Both covers will be for the same magazine; however each cover you make will have a different target audience. You will then produce an explanation your design choices and what you have done in order to appeal to your target audience.
The target audience for my first football magazine cover was year old men. This audience is more mature and care less about lots of pictures and bright colours, they are going to want a more professional looking magazine and will care about the content of it.
not This task is not about you did is It is about you did it!
My masthead is designed to stand out on the page. It is large and at the top of the page which is where you would expect the title to be. I used bright yellow text because it would stand out and because blue and yellow are Chelsea’s team colours and my cover model is Diego Costa, a Chelsea player. I continued this colour scheme across the whole of my cover to keep it consistent. The yellow on its own did not stand out enough against my light background colour so I chose to add the black shadow to make it stand-out. I chose a very clear bold font because it gives a very no-nonsense feel which I think will appeal to my older target audience. My choice of the title “TIKI-TAKA” was again designed to appeal to my target audience – it suggests that the magazine is more mature and technical. Because this is a modern footballing term only real football fans will understand it – making it an “in joke”.
