Bully or Buddy? By: Makayla,Kayla, and Heather

Types of Bullying Cyber Bullying- When you get on the web and make fun of someone. Physical Bullying- When you kick, punch, pinch, and hit. Verbal Bullying- Calling people names; gossiping; making fun of; calling them ugly Emotional Bullying—excluding; hurting their feelings

Why is bullying bad? When you bully someone it hurts people. You could cause someone to hurt themselves, and you could also get hurt. You could get in trouble when you bully. People will remember you as a bully.

In % of students in middle grades in Kentucky reported having been bullied by someone else on school property!

Many children try not to show the hurt. They keep it hidden inside, which is even more painful!

Be a Buddy! When a new student comes to your school, talk to them and be their friend. If you see someone being bullied, let them know you support them and tell a teacher or other trusted adult.

Laws in Kentucky Against Bullying Kentucky’s anti-bullying legislation (KRS ) was codified in 2008 after the passage of House Bill 91. This legislation requires the Kentucky Department of Education to provide guidance to local school districts to assist with the implementation of the law at the local level. Additionally, the legislation requires that “model policies” (bullying, code of conduct, and supervision of students) be provided to school districts.KRS House Bill 91guidance model policies Kentucky also has relevant laws against harassment (KRS ) and cyberbullying or harassing communications (KRS ).KRS KRS
