Objective: Students will learn the brush tools in Illustrator, and be able to utilize the brushes to create graphics. Bellwork: How does text on a path differ from Photoshop to Illustrator? How is it the same?

 Open a new Illustrator file, and set the dimensions as shown below.

 File - Save as, navigate to your H-drive.  Folder: Illustrator  Filename: Username Paint Brushes

 Open the file ‘Paint Brushes’ from the Handouts –Multimedia-Illustrator folder.

 Illustrator comes with a variety of brush styles. In this activity, you will learn how to use a few of them.  You will read through the instructions, and complete this activity on your own.  Be sure to look at the grading rubric before handing it in.

 When you are finished, turn in your assignment.  Work on any missing assignments if you are done…  …or create your own sign using a new brush style.

 Open the instructions for ‘Business Cards’ from the handouts folder.  Open a new Illustrator File

 File - Save as, navigate to your H-drive.  Folder: Username Illustrator  Filename: Username Business Card

 Today we will work to create a business card with a logo.  You will be creating a pattern brush and aligning objects

 We will work through the first few steps together.  You will finish the card on your own.

 When you are done, get with a partner to design a new business card for a company of your choice.  You must work with someone you have not worked with before!  Save the file as both your usernames Group Business.  Be creative with your designs.  Turn in your group’s completed card.
