E Gun Laser system T. Rao

Laser Specifications Wavelength:1064, 532, 355 and 266 nm Power:20 W, 10 W, 5 W and ~ 1 W Pulse duration:~ 10 ps/50-70 ps Repetition rate:single pulse to 10 MHz Synchronization:Synchronized to master clock Class IV laser Status: Laser in house, installation scheduled for end of May

Laser Beam Transport Within laser room, if climate control is good, transport in air Through Block house wall up the periscope in evacuated pipe From top of periscope to e beam vacuum window, transport in air/2 evacuated pipes From the vacuum window to cathode in beam line vacuum Laser beam for diagnostic through air to fiduciary Alignment to the cathode done prior to cathode insertion through window in load lock valve Remote control of two mirrors in the block house in case of beam steering after initial alignment All initial alignments done with low power alignment lasers distributed through out the beam line Radiation level near the wall penetration will be monitored and shielded appropriately if needed Status: Will commence after cold emission tests

Diagnostics Laser parameters will be measured in the laser room Spot size, centroid location and laser energy/power will be monitored in block house Correction for centroid and power variation will be done remotely with motorized optics holders in block house and attenuators in the laser room Status: Oscilloscope, CCD camera, video camera, power meter, photodiode auto/cross correlator etc. purchased, being tested for integration into control system
