Demographic and Psychographic Taio Cruz Music Video

Taio Cruz – Break Your Heart The video by Taio Cruz is all about a relationship with a women. They both talking about breaking each other’s heart. There are many aspects of this video which appeal to the target audience of this artist.

Mise en Scene Speed boat: The main mode of transport in the video is the speed boat. This is fast and expensive Party Lifestyle: The main location of the video is at a party, displaying a laid back, easy going and fun lifestyle Sunny location: The setting for this video is in a sunny, tropical location.

Representation Taio Cruz is represented as a cool, stylish and good looking young man who is enjoying his life. This reflects on his audience. The viewers of this video will want to be like Taio, by dressing like him. The target audience is other young men. They aspire to be like him, and to gain the lifestyle he leads.

Demographic This video is mainly aimed at year old males. However, this video can also be attractive to the same aged females. Displaying a stylish lifestyle appeals to these demographics as it links in with their own hopes and ambitions for the future.

Attitudes and Aspirations The year old demographic is targeted by this video as this demographic is in a ‘choosing stage’ of their lives. Many people aspire to have lots of money, a party lifestyle with freedom, and to attract members of the opposite sex. Taio has all this. This is part of his persona. When we conducted a survey in our class, the majority said they would rather go travelling than have a large house and money. Many other people in this demographic may wish to have this lifestyle.

Psychographic Both males and females can identify with a character in this video, and want to be like these characters. Young men who want to be fashionable and popular aspire to be Taio, whereas young women would look at his partner, and identify with her. The main focus of this video maybe Taio Cruz, but his partner his given similar status. She too is attractive, stylish and lives an exciting lifestyles many females may wish to lead. However, it could also be considered from the video that for a female to obtain this lifestyle, they may have to find a rich man.
