+ Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project (10 th and 11 th grade) A three-day institute that offers an impactful program to help students develop their leadership potential and increase their knowledge of Los Angeles’ political culture Highlights include: Civic Day: Students learn about the legislative process through active participation in mock hearings and meeting city and county lawmakers. College and Careers Day: Students participate in informal workshops about financial aid, university requirements and options and learn about the college admissions process. Stay at a college dorm. Students will stay at CSU Los Angeles so you get to experience what is like to live on a college campus. The program is FREE!!! Housing, meals and program materials are all provided for FREE!!

+ Girls Who Code- Summer Immersion Program (10 th & 11 th grade) This A FREE seven-week introduction to computer science summer program. During the 7 weeks you will do the following: Connect code to your passions– whether it is medicine, fashion, gaming, you will learn how code ties to all industries. See coding in action – meet female engineers and get an inside look at technical roles in world’s top companies Join the sisterhood – make friendships with a supportive and diverse community of other Girls Who Code alumni
+ Girls Who Code– cont. Eligibility: Be a current 10 th or 11 th grade student in high school Commit to attending the full 7-week long program. The program runs from Monday-Friday 9am – 4pm. + CYTT College Residence Program Program Highlights: Students live on the USC campus in a college dorm during the program and you get 3 daily buffet style meals Leadership and skill development training Academic enrichment and college prep counsel Participate in challenging activities & team competitions Attend fieldtrips The program is from June 19 - June 25 With the reduced fee the entire program costs $350 but this includes everything (room & board, food, all materials and fieldtrips) Do not let this discourage you from applying to the program, we can work with you to meet this fee.

+ UCLA Summer Institutes UCLA offers a variety of summer programs for high school students which are the following: Acting and Performing Summer Institute Art Summer Institute Dance/Performing Arts Summer Institute Design Media Arts Summer Institute Game Lab Summer Institute (learn about gaming design) Mock Trail Summer Institute (great program if you are interested in law) Model United Nations Summer Institute NANOSCALE Microscopy Lab Summer Institute (learn about scientific imaging) Writing Workshop Institute Mostly all of these summer institutes require students to stay on the UCLA campus in their dorms.
+ UCLA Summer Institutes Scholarships are available to students and the scholarship would COVER EVERYTHING!!! Tuition, room and board, meals and you will have access to UCLA’s facilities. + Scripps College Academy (10 th grade; only for girls) This is an intensive multi-year, pre-college program for high achieving young women who are currently in the 10 th grade. The program includes: A two-week summer residential program at Scripps College Year-Round Academic Enrichment College Planning- receive individualized assistance in the college application and financial aid process Eligibility: A student must meet one of the following: Qualify for free or reduced lunch Will be the first generation in their family to attend college Attend a title 1 school (Simon Tech is a Title 1 school)
