GREEN OPEN ACCESS Author puts a copy of his manuscript, (journal article, book chapter, book, data set, etc.) in a repository. A reader accesses that manuscript full text for FREE.

GOLD OPEN ACCESS A reader accesses the article full text without charge because the author paid the article processing fee to make it OA. OR The reader accesses the article full text because his institution’s has paid a subscription fee. Author a submits a copy of his article (journal article, book, book chapter, data set, etc.) to a publisher.
