Dodo bird
The Dodo bird The Dodo bird became extinct in 1681. Even though it’s a bird like the peacock, it’s a flightless bird. It was said that the Dodo bird was the dumbest bird. The Dodo bird eat mostly fruits. Was a close relative to today's pigeon. Had no natural predators except for humans.
description Had brownish and blackish plumage. Very small legs, but very large birds. The average Dodo bird weighed about 50 Lbs.
Extinction Was completely fearless of humans. Since it was a flightless bird and not afraid of humans, it made it easy prey for humans. When the humans first arrived, they brought cats, dogs, pigs, etc. The animals destroyed the Dodo’s nests while the humans destroyed the forests where the birds had their nest. But the pigs had a higher impact on the birds extinction than the hunting.
Habitat Its habitat belonged to the island of Mauritius. Mauritius is off the east coast of Madagascar.
