The fund is a cash grant used as a financial incentive tool for projects that offer significant projected job creation and capital investment where a single Texas site is competing with another viable out-of- state option. Governor’s University Research Initiative This past legislative session, lawmakers allocated $40 million for the Governor’s University Research Initiative for the strategic purpose of enhancing research programs at Texas public universities and attracting nationally-recognized researches and Nobel Laureates. Enterprise Zone Project (Office of the Governor EDT) Potential Sales and Use tax refund based on new and existing jobs associated with the qualified business site during designation period.
