SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER  I like being with kids. I love seeing kids take things away from what I teach them. Special kids make me laugh and are fun to be around and seeing how much they really know when you push them the be the best. I love teaching kids new things and see their reactions to things about it.

ANNUAL SALARY/WAGES PER HOUR  Annual Salary: $53,220  Wages Per Hour: $56.59

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS  Bachelor's degree  Be able to explain concepts in terms students with learning disabilities can understand.  Some states require special education teachers to earn a master’s degree in special education after earning their teaching certification.  Most Special Education Teachers are first licensed in general education for kindergarten through grade 12 before obtaining Special Education Teaching certificatio

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS  Pass the CBEST (California Basic Assessment Educational Skills Test).  Prove subject matter competence. This can be done by passing the CSET in your subject area.  Pass the RICA (Reading Instruction Competence Assessment).  Finish an official Special Education Credential preparation program that includes student teaching in your chosen specialty.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS  U.S. Constitution requirement.  Receive an offer of employment from a school.  If you pass the CBEST and CSET, some universities offer special internship options. They allow you to teach.
