WELCOME TO MRS. TRAN’S’ HOMEROOM!!

MORNING RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Enter quietly. 2.Drop off your breakfast at your desk. 3.Retrieve a chair. 4.Gather ALL your materials for the day. Your teacher will not allow you to return to your locker. 5.Sit down and enjoy your breakfast.

If for some reason I am not in my classroom when the first student arrives in the morning, line up quietly outside of my room. Do not enter without an adult being present. I will be there momentarily.

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS I do not mind you chatting quietly with the people sitting around you during homeroom; however, when the announcements begin, everyone in the room is SILENT. Oftentimes, there is important information announced, and everyone has the right to hear it.

I will dismiss you for CQI; please do not stand up after the announcements have completed in case I have information that I need to share with you. CQI is D.E.A.R. time (except in my class)  Monday-1 st  Tuesday-2 nd  Wednesday-3 rd  Thursday-4 th  Friday- Advisement CQI

When you transition from class to class, the expectation is that you exit our rooms quietly and line up quietly in orderly lines outside of the next class. Do not stand in clusters to chat; line up one behind the other because our part of the hallway gets very congested. I will invite you in; do not just walk in. TRANSITIONS BETWEEN CLASSES

Where should I stand? (if you are facing the teachers’ doors…) If you are going to Ms. Whaley’s class… ▫ Stand on the wall to the right of her door. If you are going to Ms. Frye’s class… ▫ Stand on the wall to the left of her door. (you will be lining up near the yellow hall intersection) If you are going to Ms. Tran’s class… ▫ Stand on the wall to the right of her door. If you are going to Ms. River’s class… ▫ Stand on the wall to the right of her door, if the line is too long, you may need to stand across the hall from her door. ▫ To ensure that you are not blocking the hallway as there are other classes making transitions, stand SINGLE FILE.

Walk in a single file line, on the right hand side, stopping at teacher designated stopping points. Stay visible to the teacher at all times. Quiet transitions are expected when traveling inside the school. TRANSITION TO CONNECTIONS AND LUNCH

AFTERNOON RESPONSIBILITIES Come in quietly to retrieve your belongings to go home. Quickly gather your things. This is not a time to stand and talk with your friends. Once you have gathered your belongings, stack your chair. Please listen silently to bus dismissal. This needs to be a quiet time so that no one misses his/her bus. In order to leave my room if you are on the FIRST bus call, you will be required to tell me your bus number, whether it is on the inside or outside lane, and where in that lane it is located. Once first bus call has left and you are on second bus call, you will stay in my room. Bring a book or something to work on—it’s quiet time.

STACKING CHAIRS There should be 6 stacks of 5 chairs each in the room- 3 in the front and 3 in the back. ***Very Important*** All chairs must be stacked opposite of each other. In others words, the front sides of the chairs in a stack should face each other.

BUS PASSES You are not allowed to just “hop on” your friend’s bus. If you are not presently on the bus’ roster, you MUST have a bus pass. Bus passes HAVE to be requested in the morning from Ms. Rosekrans (pink hall). A bus pass is only valid for 10 days. After that point, it expires.

TEAM 7D BEHAVIOR PLAN Step 1Verbal Warning Step 2Verbal warning and parent contact Step 3Silent Lunch Step 4Detention (conduct notice sent home) Step 5Cross-Team (conduct notice sent home) Step 6Administrative Referral (phone contact)

Agenda Please sit quietly while your teacher passes out your agenda for review. Once you have received your agenda book, please complete the information on the 1 st page. You DO NOT have to put phone numbers……just make sure that your name and my name are in the front of the agenda. We will be going through the agenda book together. I will need volunteers to read out loud. If you like to read, please raise your hand to be called upon. If you don’t like to read out loud, it is o.k.

Lockers and Textbooks I will call you up one at a time to assign a locker. I will give you the combination, and you will write it down in your agenda book. Please don’t write it on the 1 st page of your agenda, but on your birthday page. Ms. Frye will take you on Friday for a tutorial of eClass where you can access online textbooks and resources. I will give you the Interactive Math Textbook tomorrow.
