Convention of Climate Change: The Kyoto Protocol of 1997 An International Conference to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions By: Nik Bergum APES P.2

Function This protocol uses various systems to achieve reductions in overall greenhouse gas emissions, such as: –Emissions Trading –Clean Development Mechanisms –Joint Implementation This will hopefully help to slow global warming and climate change, lower air pollution, save the ozone layer and prevent further degradation of earth’s habitats

Regulation and Enforcement This conference was put on by the United Nation Framework Prevention on Climate Change (UNFCC) and is the governing body that is to monitor greenhouse gas emissions and fight global warming 187 nations have ratified this international agreement (the United States has not)
