HEALTH PHYSICAL EDUCATION DRIVER ED.

Driver Education is a required course for all 10th grade students. The class meets two (2) times per cycle in the classroom

Students will discuss the rules of the road PA state laws Car maintenance Discuss the mental issues involved in driving

Students who successfully complete the classroom (75% or higher) can qualify to take behind-the-wheel Behind-the-wheel involves six (6) hours of driving instruction

Completion of both classroom and behind-the-wheel will qualify the student for insurance reduction

Health is a required class for all 11th grade students Health meets three (3) times in a cycle Health class relates to real life situations

The information learned in class can be used now as well as later in life Health issues seen everyday in the newspapers and on the news are constantly updated due to our changing world

Physical Education is required for all 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students Phys. Ed. meets two (2) times during a 6 day cycle.

Students select from a wide variety of individual and team activities

Each year students participate in eight (8) different units

Cardiovascular training is part of every Phys. Ed. Class

Running before class insures that students are warmed up properly for that days activity

Our staff aided in the design of the complex to provide maximum use of five (5) separate teaching stations

Many of our “outdoor activities” (such as golf and archery) can be adapted to come inside The wrestling room measures 84’ x 42’, and holds two (2) full size wrestling mats Also included are two (2) indoor batting cages

All juniors are required to complete one quarter of CPR instruction All seven (7) Phys. Ed. teachers are certified CPR instructors

If student successfully completes the course, they will be certified in community CPR

Our Elective Phys. Ed. program is called Strength & Fitness Management

The boys and girls courses meet daily, and most are held in the weight room

Our facility and program offer Wilson students an opportunity to train in a unique high school setting

The personal strength and fitness developed by the students in this course builds pride and self-esteem

The weight room is in use more than 12 hours a day

Computers help facilitate individual work-outs for students and community
