What is it? Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited disease that causes scars. It effects the pancreas, lungs, liver, sinuses, and intestines. It causes problems in two major places; the lungs and digestive system. It makes thick sticky mucus. With cystic fibrosis you only 30 to 40 years to live.
How is it diagnosed? Doctors diagnose it by results from various tests. They check it by looking for a particular component. One of the many tests is called I.R.T. People with S.F. have sweat that is 2 to 5 times saltier than regular sweat.
