THE BARREN FIG TREE Luke 13:6-9

GOD IS LONGSUFFERING Because He loves us – 2 Pet. 3:8-10 In addition to time, He gives us blessings Means of bearing good fruit – John 15:7-11 Just like the servants with their talents, the Lord expects us to use what He has blessed us with!

THE SAME MESSAGE Look at the preceding verses – Luke 13:1-5 The parable says the same thing, but more urgently: repent NOW! – Rev. 2:1-7 It is high time to learn from our mistakes and do better. Be resolved to bear fruit! We do not have ignorance as an excuse – Acts 17:24-31

THE UNFRUITFUL… God is very clear about those who do not bear His fruit – Isa. 5:1-7 Cut down, thrown into the fire… no matter how the varying verses word it, the end is always two things: Separation – Rom. 11:19-24 Destruction The Lord does not want that for any of us!

CONCLUSION How many times has God given you “one more chance?” Think of all the blessings He has bestowed upon you, everything you need to grow & be fruitful. Have you taken advantage of them? The Lord’s longsuffering will not last forever. Do what is right, what He commands, before it is too late!
