 The U.S Department of energy has financed a program called ReEnergize. They create “Start Zones” in which a decrease in energy usage is funded. The Open Door Mission is inside the "Start Zone” in Omaha. They will provide the Open Door Mission with a free energy audit. Bennington High School Engineering

 Omaha Public Power district funds a grant called the Innovative Energy Efficiency Project. The Outreach Center qualifies because its combined floorspace is 30,000 sq/ft. The grant requires an energy audit. If the Open Door Mission used the ReEnergize audit they would save $10,000. The IEEP grant would also pay the Open Door Mission $400 for every average kilowatt hour of energy reduction. Bennington High School Engineering

 The Open Door Mission qualifies for another grant from OPPD. It pays incentives for installing energy efficient lighting and heat pumps. Other incentives are available for many different items the Open Door Mission needs to replace. Bennington High School Engineering
