03/07/07F.G. Garcia2 Progress Report  Relay Racks All racks have been delivered to X- Gallery Hi Bay area ☺ Base toe will arrive later this week.  Racks, side panels, doors and bases need to be painted! Darrel Sigmon will coordinate this task. Hopefully by the end of next week this task will be completed.

03/07/07F.G. Garcia3 Progress Report – Power Supply 3 (or 4) magnets Shielding Wall Garage area  14 Quadrupoles Bartleson power supply ✔ Perhaps one needs 2 bulk supplies?  It will depend on the rack location for the elements located beyond the shielding wall.

03/07/07F.G. Garcia4 Progress Report – Power Supply (cont.)  Cooling Ring (CR) Dipoles Requirements: String of 4 CR Single CR For the string of 4 CR use a Trans Rex  Supply has been moved from BEG to Linac Klystron gallery  Final destination: Linac Lower Level (South end) For the single CR one still can use Power Ten ✔ PEI from TEL area Has it been confirmed?

03/07/07F.G. Garcia5 Progress Report - Instrumentation  Instrumentations/Diagnostics First meeting was held last Monday Highlights  10 BPMs Use Booster style pickups  Retrieve one out of the tunnel for measurements/development. Expert would like to use the same system used by Pbar group in the target region.  Big question is whether the board can be modified to work on a 200MHz environment.  2 Toroids Booster has 2 ceramic gaps and 1 3 1/4in Pearson toroid. The setup will be similar as 400MeV Meet again in 2 weeks for status report and discuss further MWs and BLMs needs.

03/07/07F.G. Garcia6 Progress Report  Mechanical Support Meet with D. Pushka (PPD/Mechanical Engineer)  Help with stands modifications  Help developing SQA “cradle fixture” to aid the removal of the magnets from the old 8GeV area  Help plan the fixtures to safely lower equipment down into the Linac enclosure Meet with D. Erickson (PPD/MAB)  They have material to build 5 cooling ring stands  They need to buy material for the rest of the stands (quadrupoles, MWs)  Drawings need to be identified/finalized ☹

03/07/07F.G. Garcia8 Alignment Needs  Network setup Do we really need this new network?  If YES… Hopefully it will be done prior the shutdown One access to mark the monuments location (~ 2 hrs/2 man crew) Another access to secure the monuments in place (~ 8 hrs/3 man crew)  Involve drilling through the floor and wall  Involve open the garage door  Involve janitors to clean up the area  If NOT … Start directly by staking survey the magnet stands.
