An example of weathering that we often see right in our town is… POTHOLES!!

Water can break apart rocks because…. 1. Water gets into the cracks of the rocks 2. Water freezes and expands, or grows larger 3. It pushes (puts pressure) on the sides of the cracks 4. The rocks may break apart
