Japanese Aggression March 12-13, 2014 Objective: Students will write an informational paragraph and an argumentative paragraph that explains and justifies Japanese foreign policy during the early 20 th century using various texts.

Warm Up: Use the “Africa, Asia, Australia” textbook to IDENTIFY and TRACE the following in your notebook. Draw these in relation to each other. the Chinese province of Manchuria the countries of Indochina Japan There are hints in the question that will help you.

Read “Japan ”. In your notebook, make a list of reasons for Japan’s growing hostility towards theUnited States. (In other words, what was the U.S. doing to provoke Japan to action?)” Use bullet points.
