Performing a Monologue Theatre I Midterm

What is a Monologue? A part of a dramatic entertainment in which a single actor speaks alone A long speech by one character Spoken to oneself with an imagined other character or audience

Characterization Make your character seem real & believable Portray the character’s thoughts and emotions Use Actions to reveal his/her personality Enthusiasm, exaggeration, expressions, movement Imagine what the character looks like and how he/she speaks based on the content of the monologue Use the stage area with logical blocking embody the character emotionally & physically Develop your character based on character study questions
