Do people think those with a learning disability should work? Children’s Services? Adult Services? Connexions? Colleges? DWP/Job Centre Plus?

Is learning disability lost amongst pan- disability issues? Self-Advocates Local Authority statistics Badge of disability

Who promotes the life people with a learning disability have? Carers? Teachers? Care workers? Health professionals? Self-Advocates? Demonstration sites

Are we still discriminating against some people? People with low support needs are working How many people with Moderate to complex needs are working?

How should it work? Train people to perform skills and stay on task? Help them to build up a CV to impress employers? Assess their level of independence to travel and work? Go to college until mature enough to work Find out what people want to do Engage with employers to assess unmet needs Place people to satisfy both parties Support to make it happen and keep on happening
