My Story

Why teach about the Philippines?

Where is the Philippines? The Philippines is the only country in Asia that was colonized by Spain.

Spain had control of the Philippines for over _____ years. Spain controlled the Philippines for 377 years. This had an impact on the culture, food and language in the Philippines.

Philippines Unit Taught Spanish I and II classes at North- Rose Wolcott High School Consisted of 4 lessons, with topics in history, culture, traditions and folklore Most successful lesson was “La Boda Filipina”
