Folktales

Folktales are stories handed down from generation to generation. People told stories in the past to entertain and to instill cultural beliefs and values. Sometimes they explain why something happens in nature.  Why the sky is blue.  How a zebra got it’s stripes.  Why whales do not eat people.

There are many different types of folktales A fairy tale is a folktale that has  magic  enchantment/ spells  characters are good or evil

A fable is a very short story animals talk and act like people there is a lesson or moral at the end of a story.
