THE MALBORK CASTLE

THE MALBORK CASTLE IS A THREE- PART BUILDING IN THE GOTHIC STYLE. IT CONSISTS OF A LOW CASTLE, MIDDLE CASTLE AND HIGH CASTLE. IT IS ONE OF THE LARGEST SURVIVING GROUPS OF GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE IN THE WORLD. IN THE 14TH CENTURY MALBORK BECAME THE CAPITAL OF THE TEUTONIC ORDER, THE CASTLE WAS THE SEAT OF THE GRAND MASTER.

IT IS THE LARGEST CASTLE IN POLAND AND THE LARGEST MEDIVAL CASTLE IN THE WORLD. THE WHOLE CASTLE IS SURROUNDED BY A DEFENSIVE WALL. IN THE PAST THERE WAS A MOAT.
