Steps 1 and 2 1)Define Problem: – Observe the world around you – Ask: what can I make better? – Be specific 2) Research Existing Solutions: – Don’t reinvent the wheel – See what is out there – Ask: what can I make better?

Steps 3 and 3 Brainstorm DesignsBrainstorm Ethics ANYTHING is possible Ask: 1)What is right? 2)What is wrong? 3)What could go wrong?

Steps 4 and 5 4) Choose Design (and Define Your Solution): Optimize: – Time – Money – Resources 5) Make Prototype: Optimize: – Time – Money – Resources

Steps 6 and 7 6) Test Prototype: – Conduct experiment – Scientific Method 7) Evaluate Results: – Did your design do what you intended it to do? – Did your design solve your problem? – Did your design solve different problem?

Steps 8 and Ongoing 8) Implement: – Patent – Sell – Market Ongoing: Reiterate! – Repeat steps as needed!!!! If something doesn’t work, start over!
