September 18-19, Denver, Colorado Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development 2 Government Performance and Results Act of 1993 Holds all federal agencies accountable for achieving results. Intended to improve congressional decision-making and internal management of the Federal Government. Requires agencies to set program goals, measure program performance against those goals, and report publicly on their progress.

September 18-19, Denver, Colorado Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development 3 Outputs to Outcomes Original GPRA Measures tracked outputs. –Example: 2001 measure reported the # of people who entered HUD-Funded Permanent Housing programs. In 2003 HUD shifted to outcomes-oriented reporting. –Example: Current measure tracks the % of people assisted who retain permanent housing for at least 6 months Based on Federal direction, this trend will continue.
