In 2013, 2 Retain (EMB3- 19 ( fail maths and 20) and 1 direct ITE, (EMB3 22)

Pathways available for NA students PFP 1-year Poly Foundation Program (PFP) Top 10% of cohort (national) are eligible DPP 2-year Direct-Entry to Polytechnic Programme (DPP) Top 11-30% of cohort (national) are eligible for ITE Higher Nitec courses ITE 2 year course- skills based, can go on to polytechnic and university. 0-Lvl Move on to Sec 5 to take the O-level exams ELMAB3 ≤ 19. At least an N(A)-level grade 5 for all subjects used in the computation of ELMAB3. To empahsise- if prefer a more hands on learning , if cannot qualify for DPP, can go ITE and progress from there.

Options for NA students Students who are only interested in applying for the PFP Report on 4 Jan for Sec 5 Apply for PFP in January. Students are required to attend classes up till the last Friday of January when you have accepted the place.

Options for NA students Students who are only interested in applying for the DPP Apply for the DPP from now till 21 Dec. Results to be released on 23 Dec Accept or reject offer between 23 and 28 Dec. Should they accept a DPP offer, need not return on 4 January for Sec 5N(A). If you do not have a confirmed place, report to school on 4 January.

Options for NA students Students who are interested in applying for both the PFP and DPP If students are certain that they do not want to continue with Sec 5N(A), they may apply for the DPP once they receive their N(A)-Level results in December. Give Mr Tay a parent’s letter by 21 Dec 2015 Should they accept a DPP offer, they should not return to their secondary schools for Sec 5N(A). Upon the release of the GCE O-Level results in January, eligible students may apply for the PFP. If they are offered and accept a PFP place, they will withdraw from the DPP.

Reading Form N Indicate eligibility for DPP and the courses available Indicate eligibility for Nitec course

PFP- note certain courses require an EL grade of 2 DPP Sec 5 If you obtained: ELMAB3 of 11 points or less* and grade 3 or better for all subjects computed towards ELMAB3 subjects *prior to deducting CCA points You have choice of: PFP- note certain courses require an EL grade of 2 DPP Sec 5 Eligibility does not guarantee placement in a PFP course

You have choice of: DPP ITE Sec 5 If you obtained: ELMAB3 of 19 points or less* and grade 4 or better for all subjects *prior to deducting CCA points You have choice of: DPP ITE Sec 5

If you obtained ELMAB3 aggregate of 19 points Sec 5 ITE and consider doing EL and Maths at GCE ‘O’ level

SECONDARY 5 GCE ‘O’ LEVEL Eligibility Criteria EMB3 - 19 points or lower English, Math and Best 3 subjects must be Grade 5 and better

Subjects to be taken at ‘O’ Levels Same as ‘N’ Level English Mother Tongue Combined Humanities Mathematics/ Additional Math Science Literature/ D&T/ Art/ F&N/ Music/ POA No dropping of any subjects

Consideration for Sec 5NA path: No dropping of any “N” level subject (otherwise too few “O” level subjects to count for enrolment into JC/Poly) Short runway to prepare for ‘O’ Level. Rigour and demands of the GCE ‘O’ level course. The subjects will have an increased width and depth. Have to be ready for a lot of hard work. There is a 3 grade difference between ‘O’ and ‘N’ level standard.

Application for Sec 5NA All must report back to school on 4 Jan 2016 except those who have decided not to do Sec 5NA regardless of the PFP/DPP admission. We will not accept any Sec 5NA application after 21 Dec 2015. Those who are appealing for DPP must report to school on 4 Jan 2016. The last day of school for students who accept PFP/DPP offer is 29 Jan 2015.

Who should report on 4 January 2016 for Sec 5? Students who intend to apply for PFP or are appealing for DPP in Jan 2016, even if their results indicate that they are eligible to apply, as eligibility does not guarantee placement into a PFP course. All Sec 4N(A) students who do not progress to the DPP or Nitec programmes at ITE should report for Sec 5 on 4 January 2016 (Mon).
