How did the Versailles Treaty help cause WWII? By: Treyah Crosby, Brianna Carter, Makayla Mays, Veronica Martin Mr. Turner’s 7 th grade Social Studies Class May 20, 2014
First Cause: Germany not having a voice We believe the first cause is that Germany had no voice in the treaty. France didn’t know Germanys limits to what it could pay after the war and France made Germany feel as if it couldn’t protect its self from the surrounding countries since France had power over most of the surrounding countries. Germany grew tired of not being heard and in the end Germany rebelled against all the binding of the treaty and war broke out. Germanys respirations were to high for Germany to pay and the Economy was low because of this.
Second Cause: Military Limits Germany felt insecure about protecting itself from the other European countries surrounding it and it felt like it was corned from every side by Poland, Belgium, Czechoslovakia and France. Of course all these countries having larger armies then Germany made Germany feel unprotected. With Hitler provoking the German to people go against the treaty in the end germany did and WWII began.
Third Cause: How Germany saw the treaty Germany found The Versailles Treaty as disgraceful and humiliating. The reasons as to why, was how they gained their new sense of pride and respect, they felt when Hitler came to power. Hitler brought upon a new era of rebellion and glory to Germany causing the Germans to go against the agreements of the treaty and start WWII. Germany felt like they could take over the world with Hitler as their leader and the Nazis fighting by their side with their army.
