Mountains of Prayer Prayed often –All night in Galilee –Disciples with Him at times (Luke 9:18) –Teaching by example
Mountains of Prayer Taught them later –Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) –Lift up holy hands (1 Timothy 2:8) –Be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:5, 6) –Do you worry or pray?
Garden of Despair Why did He go there? –Learn obedience (Hebrews 5:8, 9) –Laid down His life (John 10:18)
Garden of Despair Identified with us –Divine (John 1:1) –Human (Hebrews 2:14, 15)
Garden of Despair Haven’t suffered as He did –Not resisted unto blood (Hebrews 12:4) –Are you suffering? (2 Timothy 3:12)
Valley of Death Why did He go? –Obtain our forgiveness (Hebrews 9:27, 28) –Our forerunner (Hebrews 2:14, 15)
Valley of Death Our death –Hope of the resurrection (1 Corinthians 15) –Die “in the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17) –What kind of sorrow will our loved ones have?
Throne Room of God Why did He go there? –Deserved it (Ephesians 4:10) –Glorified and passed through the heavens (Hebrews 4:14)
Throne Room of God Our goal is to be where He is –Incorruptible inheritance (1 Peter 1:18-21) –Abundant entrance (2 Peter 1:11)
