Agenda Introduction - aims of this study group - John "Ideas in ATLAS, Object Networks" - Lassi Items for future meetings Dates for next couple of sessions

Introduction Membership –Alberto Aimar –John Apostolakis –Rene Brun –Dirk Duellmann –John Harvey –Vincenzo Innocente –Pere Mato –RD Schaffer –David Stickland –Lassi Tuura Meetings –time –place –frequency –deliverables presentations summary of conclusions web rapporteur’s talk

Goals For what concerns Software Architecture, look at the following: Review what is going on in various corners - existing frameworks Exchange experience - establish good design practices Understand importance of interfaces - enabling code to be shared Establish which foundation libraries we can work with Assess impact of new languages e.g. possible evolution to Java Review integration standards - assess current usage and potential impact Agree on terminology, assemble bibliography, make a website,.. Identify the crucial issues that need to be made visible, where work is needed, where decisions have to be made and prepare to discuss in Marseilles

Suggestions for future Meetings Building frameworks - tutorial Interfaces and integration technologies Data storage - transience and persistence Integrating GEANT4 toolkit in framework Java - mixing with C++ (CORBA IDL), Java libraries….
