NASA likely to fund one-time physical distribution of data globally through UNEP or other, USAID willing to help fund

3.GDTT could take lead in online (WMS?) serving of data, after it is shortly delivered in full copy to the UN also (not distribution, that is being done by UMD already, 7,000 scenes of 1990 and some 2,500 of 2000!) 4.Discussions held on this subject also at OGC TC/PC meetings in Annapolis (with G. Percivall, A. Doyle) 5.Need was expressed for lower resolution MODIS/other global image dataset for mapping background on small scales; investigated MODIS 1km. data (Blue Marble); could be processed to 250 m. full-resolution mosaic if resources would allow (GSFC, R. Stoekli) 6.Global 250 m. data could also be provided by NASDA, some discussions initiated

7.E-communication and meeting with ISCGM on liaison (dr. Ryutaro Tateishi, also ISPRS WG Chair); exchange of letters at Chair level; visit of Tateishi in March 2003 to UN HQ in New York as part of an ISPRS/WG4-(Raster Data) tour; invitation to join WG as CEOS GDTT; first WG meeting in Bangkok, June Intention to further explore access to SRTM data as it is processed, first at 90 m. resolution at least, then better resolution for specific needs; UN agencies (especially Peacekeeping Dept.) very interested, requests received; Agencies could help with easing/providing access to data already available 9. Other needs, possibilities could emerge – f. ex. expand Landsat data access to 1970s MSS mosaic, support UNOOSA regional process, offer online access to more EO data, easy search interfaces etc.
