 Ecstasy is most commonly used at all night parties called "raves.”  Adolescent Usage of MDMA (from a survey of 6,937 teens nationwide last year by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America) :  12% say they have tried Ecstasy at least once. That's up from 10% in 2000 and 5% in 1995.

 In 2009, 6.5% of seniors had ever tried MDMA, down from 11.7% in 2001  Percentage of usage of MDMA found by The “Monitoring the Future Study”:  2.4% of 8th graders,  4.7% of 10th graders, and  4.5% of 12th graders

Symptoms of ecstasy intoxication:  Raised Pulse / Temperature  Feeling of a "rush"  Affection for others  Raised blood pressure  Overconfidence  Relaxed feeling  Teeth grinding  Jaw clenching  Anxiety / Sweating  Loss of Appetite  Blurred vision

 Do they have the shakes?  Do they have a blank stare?  Has their physical coordination changed?  Are they staggering?  Are they eating properly?  Are they always tired?  Do they talk a million miles an hour?  Do they slur their words?

 Day after Depression:  Brain stops producing serotonin to help regulate mood  Inability to regulate temperature:  Hyperthermia is primary cause of death  Internal Suffering:  Liver, kidney and cardiovascular failure  Physical Flaws:  Dehydration, Seizures, Muscle tension, clinching of jaw, eye-twitching, blurred vision

 Regulates our “happy place,” our mood, appetite and sleep as well  Ecstasy releases the serotonin to get that euphoric-type feeling  Reason for the “Day-After Depression”  Researchers do not yet know if the effects are reversible
