Session: Putting Energy in Context To interact with a number of energy using, generating, and storing systems potentially larger than the internet, we must understand their context. Energy systems support business processes and interact with communities, region, and buildings. Potential smart grids include electricity, natural gas, water, even traffic. The scope of a smart grid might be the building, campus, or region When the actors understand the context of each system, the risk of making decisions about that system are reduced, increasing the potential size and scope of interactions such as Demand Response (DR). Even cyber-security can only be understood through the context of the services it protects. This session offers a conversation between leaders in the standards that put systems in context whether in space, or in a building, or in the service provided. The Broader View Energy supports business and personal needs We can apply modeling and tooling that aren’t energy specific We can better understand energy-related behavior We can apply commonly used interaction techniques We can leverage the wide world of rapid-use technologies from modeling to the web Copyright 2009 Cox Software Architects LLC.
