Week 6 October Student of the Month Attached to this newsletter you should find the following items: 1.Weekly Progress Report and Dibels testing results 2.Your student’s graded work from the week 3. ELA Home Connection Page, detach and use to study spelling words and reading concepts I have reviewed my child’s work, Dibels results letter card and progress report. ___________________________________________________ Parent Signature Student Self Assessment Write (Y) for yes, (A) for Almost and (N) for No ____1. I can complete the daily vocabulary activities. ____2. I can stay focused and not interrupt small group instruction. ____3. I can describe the rock cycle ____4. I can make smart choices and earn positive points verses negative points. ____5. I can name the 7 continents and 4 oceans Name______________#___ Casyn Brown is selected for this honor for his excellent listening skills. He also is great at staying focused. Casyn is a super independent thinker and problem solver who is always exhibiting outstanding behavior. Casyn has been a true role model for others. Students get innovative with anti- bullying posters!

New Reading Requirement Daily Journaling Currently, students are only required to get a signature to verify their nightly reading. Starting Week 7 students will identify the pages read, write a brief statement about their reading, and get a parent signature. To help support your student’s reading progress, please read the brief statement and asks questions about their reading. If their writing is not legible, please have them rewrite it and remind them how important it is to write legibly so they are effective communicators. NBT.1 Place Value NBT.2 Number Sense (forms) NBT.3 Rounding NBT.4 Addition Math Testing Results * If results show 80% of the students at mastery and /or near mastery, new concepts are taught. Students needing remediation, work with tutors and/or teacher at various times. As a parent, if you can provide extra help and support that would help ensure that your student does not fall behind. Review your child’s progress report to understand your child’s current standing Students leaning about our changing earth!
