DePaul University May post a maximum of 15 appropriate photos. Guidelines for appropriate Facebook usage by student-athletes: May post a maximum of 15 appropriate photos. Removing tags of inappropriate pictures is the responsibility of each student-athlete. For continued safety reasons, no private information shall be posted- i.e. phone numbers, address, full birth date, email address, dormitory. No involvement in anti-DePaul groups, events, comments, pictures, etc. No inappropriate pictures: alcohol, drugs, weapons/ violence, gestures, inappropriate clothing, signs, degrading teammates/others. Captains will encourage and monitor appropriate use of Facebook Captains will encourage and monitor appropriate use of Facebook. This includes monitoring or excluding questionable pictures and wall messages/status updates. Student-athletes should not join any groups or ‘be a fan’ of any groups that are disparaging of any segment of the population or themselves. Student-athletes who use Facebook are strongly encouraged to use it to connect with DePaul community- i.e. Blue Crew, club teams, campus events, etc. Absolutely NO sharing of password and log in information. DePaul University Reinforcement of Policy: All student-athlete Facebook users MUST join the DePaul Athletic Group as well as become “friends” with their team captains and DIBS, the profile that the athletics administration will now utilize to reach out to student-athletes and as a backup vehicle for captain’s monitoring. Coaches may have their own more restrictive sport policies including requiring student athletes to “friend” them. It is each captains’ responsibility to monitor all teammates’ profiles at least on a weekly basis. Captains will be held accountable for inappropriate use that is not dealt with immediately. 1st time offense dealt with by captains and coach. If a captain or coach finds inappropriate content on a student-athlete’s profile, the student athlete must remove or fix the issue immediately. It should be noted that athletics administration reserves the right to amend or rescind the Facebook policy due to non-compliance with the policy at any time. DePaul University
