What goes into the design of a state quarter? Who makes the decisions? When is my state’s quarter being released?

Who makes the important decisions regarding what will appear on a state quarter? Well, it depends on the state! But in each instance, one important person gets to decide how the decision will be made. And that person is… … the state governor! Here are some of the proposed designs for the upcoming Maine state quarter. So far, many state Governors have held contests and set up committees to decide which designs will be submitted to the U.S. Mint. The mint provides feedback as to whether or not a design is possible, and then, usually, the governor decides which design will be accepted.

When is my state’s quarter going to be released? Excellent question! To find out when your state’s quarter was or will be released, check the U.S. Mint’s web site by clicking right here. here These are some of the designs currently being considered by the state of Wisconsin. This is the reverse of a quarter from Click it to return to the table of contents.

Ok, so now I know what I need to know about state quarters. So what’s this unit all about? Ok, so now I know what I need to know about state quarters. So what’s this unit all about? This unit is meant as either an add-on to the students’ regular state report work, or the entire state report, and can be easily adjusted to the teacher’s and students’ needs. It provides the opportunity for students to present what they’ve learned about their states in a fun-to-use and easy to work with format. It provides the opportunity for students to present what they’ve learned about their states in a fun-to-use and easy to work with format. And best of all, it incorporates the public excitement surrounding the state quarters, and lets students design a quarter of their own!

What exactly will my students need in order to successfully complete this unit? Software requirements: Microsoft Powerpoint and optionally Microsoft Publisher Word Processor Other necessities and recommendations: Textual research sources, specialized books, encyclopedias, AAA Guides to the states… and training with the software!

What concessions are in place for students with special needs? A list of addresses has been provided for students to use to initiate correspondence with state politicians, and a newsletter option is in place, all for students who need further depth and complexity. Additionally, the unit is easily adapted for group work and peer support. Detailed templates have been provided for students who need extra help and extra time completing their work.

How do I assess this? Not a problem! Just have a look in the teacher_support folder included in this unit, and you’ll find easily adaptable rubrics for both the Powerpoint presentation and the optional newsletter. This unit is meant to be both student and teacher friendly. Make it work for you!
