Choosing a Level

Levels Level Descriptions: Level 1: ● New to coding! ● Step-by-step instructions ● Uses Python Level 2: ● Some experience ● Explanatory resources provided ● Uses Javascript (also HTML, CSS, JQuery) Level 3: ● You feel comfortable building a project on your own

Levels Choosing a level 1. Choose the level you think applies to you 2. Take the pre-survey for that level ● The surveys are supposed to be really hard! ● You’re supposed to not know the answers yet! ● Feel free to leave questions blank, or say “I don’t know!” 1. If you get a 70-90% consider starting at the next level instead. The questions are supposed to be HARD! 2. Once you’ve selected a level, choose a module in Canvas from that level and start working

Coding! When you have a question 1. Spend 10 minutes on a given problem. 2. Check the instructions again! 3. Check if the module provides any hints! 4. Google the problem. 5. Ask someone else in the club. 6. Ask another person in the club. 7. Ask me for help!

Coding!

1. Look at the module titles in Canvas. a. Level 1: - do the modules starting with the first one b. Level 2 - Choose modules that interest you, but realize Video Games uses what you learned in Graphics, and Web Development uses what you learn in Video games c. Level 3 - Choose a project that interests you 1. HAVE FUN!!!!

Closing! Each day, we will write/share something: ● that we’re grateful for in the club ● new we’ve learned ● awesome we saw another club member doing Then, you can read what other people wrote!

Closing! Next Meeting... Mon Oct 19 from 2:30-3:30 PM Next Time... ● I’ll talk about a cool topic in computer science! ● We’ll get to keep working on more projects!
