Wikis for Classes By Luis Avila 2

Why do we choose a wiki for ? It was tough as a solution for communicate with students and parents. It is a nice option instead of Facebook, specially for little kids. You can edit it as you want, and also visitors can leave you comments and questions. It is by free. You can post links, pictures and documents, and people can download them. 3

Why don't we choose a wiki for ? Students and parents get confused looking for the website. They are not used to work with these kind of websites. You must tell them to check it, when you need it. Sometimes parents think their children are playing games. 4

Students and Parents perspective. With this tool, parents feel close and monitor their child's process. It is because they can give them extra practice and support in a language they are not able yo deal with. Have quick and easy access to the information they need to get involve with the course and the one their kids need to study and practice at home. Is a nice idea to make students practice at home with the games provided, because they won't fell forced to do it as they fell it with school homework. They can learn with their children. 5

Students and Parents perspective. Sometimes they got in troubles looking for the website because they don't use the browser box. (the google it) Parents thought that the games their children were playing were about other things not related to the class. At first was difficult for students get use to use this website, because they a not in touch with technology. 6

Teacher Perspective It works as it was planned to, because we don't have a direct via communication channel, to provide them with homework, information and news about the course. Students ask for more links and sources, because the do like these kind of practice. Parents support this idea, because they realize about the interest it raises in their children. 7

Teacher Perspective Students start to bring the homework, they got rom the website. It encourage them to practice grammar by themselves. At first was an obstacle, because teacher asks for something how was there and the didn't try to look for it. 8
