Respect Honesty Perseverance Love Tolerance Compassion Workshop Aims To introduce Espresso, Bug Club and Abacus. To show you how to access these digital resources at home. To explore some of the multimedia activities which support your child’s learning across the curriculum.

Respect Honesty Perseverance Love Tolerance Compassion What is Espresso? In school, we use Espresso to help motivate, engage and support children in the classroom. Now your child can use Espresso at home to practise and consolidate their learning. Espresso provides a wide range of digital resources, including videos, multimedia activities and interactive materials, which support children’s learning across the curriculum.

Respect Honesty Perseverance Love Tolerance Compassion Espresso Home Access To access Espresso from home you will need a PC, Tablet or Mac and a connection to the internet. Then go to the school’s website Click on the ‘Useful links’ menu and select ‘itslearning/Espresso’ from the dropdown menu. Enter your child’s username and password. These login details are in their Home Support book. Click on the picture to get started.

Respect Honesty Perseverance Love Tolerance Compassion Espresso Resources Your child is already familiar with Espresso so they will be able to show you the resources they have been using in school. Let’s have a look at some videos and games which will support your child to develop their reading, writing and mathematics skills.

Respect Honesty Perseverance Love Tolerance Compassion What is Bug Club? Bug Club is a levelled reading scheme which gives children access to a personalised library of e-books which follow our phonics teaching. Grammar and Spelling Bug supports children’s development of grammar and spelling skills. Abacus is a numeracy scheme that supports our teaching of mathematics and reinforces children’s learning.

Respect Honesty Perseverance Love Tolerance Compassion Accessing Bug Club Bug Club works on all platforms, including PCs, Macs, iPads and Tablets. Bug Club, Grammar and Spelling Bug and Abacus are all accessed through the same site. Go to the school’s website Click on the ‘Useful links’ menu and select ‘Abacus/Bug Club’ from the dropdown menu. Enter your child’s username and password and the school code which is tljs. These login details are in their Home Support book.

Respect Honesty Perseverance Love Tolerance Compassion Bug Club Resources Each child has an individual homepage which gives them access to activities and e-books with exactly the right level of challenge.

Respect Honesty Perseverance Love Tolerance Compassion E-Safety In school we have used CEOPs ‘Thinkuknow’ resources to teach our children about e-safety. Children learn how to go on the internet in a safe way and who to talk to if they are worried. A link to these resources is available on our website.

Respect Honesty Perseverance Love Tolerance Compassion Any Questions? We hope you find Espresso and Active Learn useful resources to consolidate and extend your child’s learning. If you have any further questions about how to use these resources, please speak to your child’s teacher.
