1. unsightly adj.- distasteful or unpleasant to look at – That is an unsightly wound!
2. portal noun- a door, gate, or entrance – We walked through the hidden portal to enter the building.
3. proboscis noun- a nose, esp. when unusually long or prominent. – The clown’s proboscis was red.
4. boisterous adj.-rough and noisy – After I told my joke, I heard the sound of boisterous laughter.
5. pandemonium noun - wild uproar or unrestrained disorder – There was complete pandemonium when the teacher left the room.
6. rumor-monger Noun- a person given to spreading rumors, often maliciously. – The rumor-monger said things that just weren’t true about me!
7. purportedly Adv. - supposedly or allegedly – He purportedly had the winning lottery ticket.
8. peers Noun - a person who is equal to another in abilities, qualifications, age, background, and social status – Some of my peers are friendly, and some are definitely not.
9. forebodingly Adv. - in a predicting way of impending (likely to occur) evil or disaster. – The man forebodingly said that it would happen, but I never thought I would get hurt.
