The 2003 “Care & Treatment” Act Mental health law is about securing benefits for, and protecting the rights of, people with mental disorder. Its primary objective is to make sure people with mental disorder can receive effective care and treatment in accordance with the Millan Principles.

Outcomes for Collaborative Working an integrated approach to mental health: bringing health and social models together, believing in recovery for every individual focus more attention upstream: promotion, prevention and early intervention focus on improving quality of life, ambition and hope, not on illness and deficiency develop an empowering approach between service users and services. If we are to demonstrate what difference services are making to service users lives, then that depends on the witness of service users and carers.

We know that in Airdrie: One in four adults (10,500) will have mental health needs at some point in their life 16% (6,700) will have experienced a mild to moderate mental health problem such as anxiety or depression in the last week 1% (420) people are living with severe and/or enduring mental health problems
