Agent Familiarisation Week School of Health Sciences and Social Care

Introduction to the School of Health Sciences and Social Care  The School has a strong research ethos informing our teaching, the community and the world around us.  Our research feeds into our teaching ensuring the content of our programmes remains up-to-date as possible.  By providing research-led teaching our School is a leader in providing health and social care education that contributes to shaping future developments within the health and social care services.

 Attracting staff and students from around the world, we are a vibrant academic community encompassing 5 major subject areas:  Bioscience  Community Health Nursing/Health Studies  Occupational Therapy  Physiotherapy  Social Work

 We have a tradition of being responsive to emergent training needs of the Health and Social Care professional community, e.g. MSc Health Information for Clinical Management and MSc Ageing Studies were developed in response to a perceived need by clinicians.  State-of-the-art facilities in the Mary Seacole and Heinz Wolff Buildings, with well-equipped and cutting edge laboratories.  Supportive learning environment.  Strong inter-disciplinary and interprofessional approach to research.  High proportion of our graduates gain employment or go on to advanced study.
